VMEbus J1 Classic

The basic configuration is the 3U high (Single Eurocard) J1 plane. This plane provides all the address, data and control lines, and is fully capable of operating as a standalone bus. All Elma VME backplanes are designed to maximize performance, minimize noise, and to give the customer the most reliable, cost-effective product possible. The wide range of options gives customers the possibility to configure a backplane that meets their needs.

	VMEbus J2 Classic For larger computer structures, the basic configuration (J1) can be extended with a second plane, the J2 plane, also 3U high. It lies directly below the J1 plane in the 19-inch rack and extends the data and address space of the computer system. The wide range of options gives customers the possibility to configure a backplane that meets their needs.

VMEbus Monolithic Classic

Monolithic backplanes combine the J1 and J2 planes of the VMEbus on a single printed circuit board. Because of its continuous power supply layers, the monolithic backplane is superior to two separate J1 and J2 planes, particularly with respect to dynamic current distribution. The wide range of options gives customers the possibility to configure a backplane that meets their needs.

	VME Adapter Board (160 to 220mm) The VME Adapter Board is designed to comply with the mechanical and signal connection requirements of the ANSI/VITA 1.1, 1997 VME extensions standard. It allows boards of different depths to be used in the same depth card cage.

VME Form Factor Extender

The Elma form factor extender allows you to adapt boards of different depths for use in the same VMEbus system. For example, a 160mm VME board fitted with a 180mm form factor extender will plug into a system designed for 340mm deep boards. The extension boards maintain the correct depth dimensions and allow the front panel to be aligned. The boards are available in two versions, one for Jl (3U) and the other for Jl + J2 (6U).
